Woody Austin is one of the most entertaining personalities on the PGA Tour. Galleries and television cameras love to follow Woody because they are never sure what will happen next. Woody is the only professional golfer ever nominated by ESPN for a ESPY in the category of "Most Bizarre Player of the Year."
In addition to being fun to watch for his antics, he is also fun to watch because of his talents. In 1995, after a successful campaign on the Nike Tour in '94, Woody stormed on the PGA Tour and won the Rookie of the Year award. He beat out such stars as David Duval, Justin Leonard and Tommy Tolles.
In 2000, Woody picked up where he left off. He recorded 3 Top Ten finishes and won $485,589. He almost got back to the winner's circle in the 2000 Buick Open, but slipped to 4th on the last day. With his talents coming back into form, his return to the winner's circle is fast approaching. In 2001, Woody did well at the International Presented by Qwest, John Deere Classic, finishing 8th.
