Wendy Doolan's winning streak began 14 years ago when she was the British Amateur Championship runner-up in 1991. She has represented Australia seven times internationally. In November 1991 Wendy turned professional and later went on to compete on the Futures Tour, the Women Professional Golfers' European Tour and the Asian Ladies Tour. In 1996 Wendy's best finish was a tie for 12th at the Michelob Light Heartland Classic. In 1997, she tied for third at the CoreStates Betsy King Classic and also recorded her first career hole-in-one during the third round of the Welch's Championship. The following years brought a 1998 best finish at the Rainbow Foods LPGA Classic where she finished tied for fifth; in 1999 she tied for third at the Longs Drugs Challenge.
In the new millennium, Wendy became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the LPGA Championship where she defeated Wendy Ward with a birdie on the fifth hole of a sudden-death playoff. It was that win in 2001 that put her over the $1 million mark in career earnings. In 2003, she recorded her second career win after posting four-straight rounds in the 60s at the Welch's/Fry's Championship; her 29 birdies tied an LPGA record for most sub-par holes in a single event.
Wendy began playing golf at the age of 14 and credits her family for most influencing her career. She qualified for the LPGA Tour on her third attempt and has been successful ever since.
