
Tom Pernice, Jr. is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, at The International in 2001, and 1999 Buick Open. He did well in 2000 PGA Tour, tying for 5th at BellSouth Classic, 8th at Mercedes Championship, and in the top 30 six more times. With 9 eagles, he ranked 22 in this category.
In addition to his win at The International, 2001's finishes include tying for 4th at Buick Open, finishing 6th at Canon Greater Hartford Open, and tying for 7th at Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Last year, his best PGA Tour finishes were tying for 5th at BellSouth Classic and 8th at Mercedes Championship. Of the 30 PGA tournaments he had entered, he ranked 12 in money and was a top-10 finishes once.
Other past achievements include being runner-up at 1998 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and coming in 3rd at 1992 Ben Hogan Hawkeye Open.
As an amateur, Tom was the 1981 Pac-10 Player of the Year and was the fourth member of 1981 UCLA to win on the PGA TOUR with victory at 1999 Buick Open (joining classmates Corey Pavin, Steve Pate and Duffy Waldorf). He was also two-time NCAA All-American.
His interests are varied, and include gardening, and politics along with a variety of sports.
