Biographical Information

Melnyk was the 1969 US Amateur Champion, 1971 British Amateru Champion, 1969 & 1971 Walker Cup Team Member, Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Member, and Florida Sports Hall of Fame Member.

Joined PGA Tour in 1972, served as Director of Golf, Amelia Island Plantation 1978-80. Sustained elbow injury in 1982 and his last PGA Tour apparence was in 1983.

Joined CBS Sports as Golf Analyst in 1982 through 1991. Since 1992 he has been with ABC Sports as golf commentator and analyst. Participates extensively in corporate golf outings, corporate speechmaking and public appearances.
