
Melody K. Brochers is the owner of My Turf, a golf training and promotional company. My Turf offers a speaker's bureau of golf processionals; develops golf curricula for corporations and nonprofit organizations; conducts educational golf seminars; coordinates golf outings and golf special events; and provides skill development for golf enthusiasts. Melody has played recreational and amateur tournament golf for over 20 years. She comes form a golfing family, including her husband and daughter, who are turf management experts and golf course superintendents.
She attended Bowling Green State University from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also graduated Capital University - Graduate School of Management.
Melody is Co-founder and 1992-1994 President of NAWBA; Co-founder and Board Officer of the Columbus Chapter of NAWBO; USSBA Woman Advocate of 1986; Columbus Chamber 1994 International Business Woman Advocate; 1984 State of Ohio Employee of the Year; 1994 Delaware County Ohio Woman's Amateur; 1996 U.S. Golf Academy.
Frequently requested as a public speaker , trainer and lecturer at local and national conferences, Melody has been seen and heard on radio and television, promoting the game of golf.
Understanding the importance of golf in business, Melody has organized several leagues, including the Columbus Business Women's Golf League, to encourage women to participate in golf. Melody's advice to new golfers: Understanding golf means realizing it is a game that requires 15% skill and 85% the right mental attitude. Melody created and founded CHOICES Women's Golf Tournament which raises over $50,000 annually for programs and services for victims of domestic violence. While training and supporting women golfers, Melody also has conducted several youth golf camps, "Bring Out the Tiger In You".
