Mark Hensby is a name the golf world will come to recognize and appreciate in the next few years. After successful seasons on the BUY.COM tours in 1997, 98, and 99, Mark has obliterated his competition in 2000. The 2000 season was a dream come true for Mark, as he found himself at the top of the BUY.COM money list. His best finishes on the 200 Buy.com Tour were 1st at the Carolina Classic, 2nd at the Florida Classic, Monterrey Open, and Permian Basin Open, tied for 5th at the Cleveland Open, tied for 6th at the Wichita Open and tied for 9th at the Knoxville Open.
His best finish on the PGA TOUR in 2001 was T9th at the Touchstone Energy Tucson Open. He ranks T91st in Driving Distance on the PGA TOUR.
Mark, an Australian, has played on the Nike/Buy.com Tours since 1997. He experienced his first professional victory at the 1998 NIKE Fort Smith Classic. Mark finished the '98 campaign 33rd on the Tour's Money List. He followed a successful '98 season, with an even equally impressive '99 season, obtaining three top-10 finishes. In '99, Mark also played the Australian PGA Tour, finishing 13th on the Tour's Money List. Not satisfied with success on two continents, Mark played two tournaments in Asia, winning the Thailand Open and the Omega Asian PGA Championship on successive weekends.
