
When Laurie was a collegiate All-American in 1980 and 1982 at the University of Florida, she captured the 1980 USGA Girls Championship and the 1982 Doherty Challenge Cup. She was honored as the Golf Digest Junior of the Year in 1980.
She qualified for the Tour in the summer between her junior and senior years of college. She continued her education and traveled to the University of Florida during off weeks to graduate in 1983. Rinker-Graham has had three $100,000-plus seasons: 1984, 1986 and 1987. She helped organize a 1998 golf tournament benefiting the Next Step Counseling Center. Her brothers, Larry and Lee Rinker, are members of the PGA Tour.
Some of her victories in the LPGA include the 1984 Boston Five Classic and the 1986 LPGA Corning Classic. She also won the 1984 JLPGA Bridgestone Ladies Open and the 1985 JCPenney Classic (her partner in the JCPenney Classic was her brother Larry Rinker.)
In 2000, Laurie tied for 11th at the Firstar LPGA Classic in conjunction with the Children's Medical Center and tied for 13th at the Safeway LPGA Golf Championship. She carded a season-low 68 on four occasions: during the first and third rounds of the Firstar LPGA Classic in conjunction with the Children's Medical Center, the second round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic and the first round of the Oldsmobile Classic.
