
Joe Inman is vocal in his opinion that he did not choose to play golf, instead he says, "golf chose me. It was the only sport I could excel in." And excel he does. Joe Inman won the 1976 Kemper Open and finished first at the 1998 and 1999 Pacific Bell Senior Classic. His best nationwide tour finish is T21 in 1994 at the NIKE Central Georgia Open.
Inman attended Wake Forest University and served a short time for the U.S. Army following graduation. Before becoming professional in 1972, Inman won the 1968 Carolinas open, as well as the 1969 North-South Amateur and 1970 North Carolina Amateur. He joined the PGA tour in 1998.
Joe Inman's brother, John, is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour and is now the golf coach at the University of North Carolina.
Joe Inman worked as a Ping sales representative from 1989 to 1997 and was a member of the PGA Tour Radio Network in 1997. He resides in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and three children. Joe lists Cypress Point as his favorite golf course and Arnold Palmer as his favorite athlete.
