Widely acclaimed for his unique style and vast experience, Jim Flick is Director of Training and Education for the Nicklaus/Flick Golf School. In September 1999, Jim was honored as one of the "Top Ten Golf Teachers of the 20th Century" by Golf World. A natural-born teacher, Jim has worked with more than 100 touring pros and thousands of amateurs in 23 nations, making them better players. He is among the few instructors to work with Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer on their games.
Jim Flick has hosted more golf schools than anyone in the profession and, in 1988, he was only the third to be honored as PGA of America Teacher of the Year. The keynote speaker at the 1996 PGA of America Teaching and Coaching Summit, Jim was named by GOLF Magazine as one of their four master teaching professionals in the country.
In both his book, On Golf, and on The Golf Channel, Jim Flick reveals his methods of motivational, holistic, one-to-one teaching. He feels that many teachers wrongly fragment and typically break the swing down and put it back together again. Jim identifies himself with the players who talk about the game in terms of feel, rhythm, and execution. For Jim, golf is attitude, motion and philosophy rather than technique and positions - a message that he has instilled in many.
"Jim Flick understands the overall golf swing better than anyone I've ever met," said Tom Lehman, 1996 Player of the Year and British Open Champion. Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Paul Azinger, and Byron Nelson also praise his virtues. Nicklaus once said, "Jim's enthusiasm and commitment are infectious. He helps people understand and love the game of golf."
