
Jeff Rude is a Senior Writer for Golfweek magazine. He has won numerous national writing awards, including three first place awards in the 1990s from the Golf Writers Association of America. He won in the non-daily news category with his British Open story on Jean Van de Velde ("What was he thinking?" July 24, 2000). In addition, Rude won third place in non-daily columns for his story on the death of Payne Stewart.
Jeff enjoys covering the PGA TOUR. He first covered the Tour in the late 70s and has done so continuously since 1991.
While in college, earning a Bachelor's degree in journalism at the University of Missouri, Jeff caddied in the 1974 TOUR.
In addition to the wealth of golf stories and jokes in his collection, garnered during his quarter century as a golf columnist, Jeff also has tales from his experiences as host of 2 radio shows and his numerous appearances on the Golf Channel.
