
Howard David and versatility go hand in hand in the ever-demanding sports broadcasting industry .His resume includes pro football, pro basketball, college football and basketball, major league baseball, golf, tennis, billiards, soccer and track and field.
Voice of the New York Jets on the team's radio network, David became the radio voice of Monday Night Football in 1996, working with Boomer Esiason on the CBS Radio Network (Westwood One). He had previously spent 8 seasons working Sunday Night Football alongside former NFL QB Pat Haden.
In addition to his NFL assignments on CBS Radio, David handles play-by-play of college basketball and football, and broadcasting from the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. An avid golfer, David has been the Host/Anchor for CBS Radio and the Golf Radio Network for the prestigious PGA Championship, British Open, Ryder Cup and the historic Masters Golf Tournament.
David's NBA experience is extensive as well. Most recently, he was the voice of the fabled Boston Celtics. Previously, he called play-by-play for the New Jersey Nets for 7 seasons -the longest stint of any radio broadcaster in Nets history -and the Milwaukee Bucks for 3 years.
The spring of 1997 found David overseas, handling the play-by-play for Fox Sports Net's coverage of NFL Europe.
David began his career in the U.S. Air Force on Armed Forces Radio and Television in Tripoli, Libya. Following his Honorable Discharge from the service, Howard joined Nassau Broadcasting in Princeton, N.J. where he wore several hats including play-by-play of Princeton Football and Basketball and morning D.J. He became General Manager of WHWH/WPST while continuing his variety of responsibilities.
Mizlou TV Network came calling in the late 70s and David became the Senior V.P. of Sales while handling the play-by-play of the Independent TV Network's telecasts of College Football Bowl Games.
Howard David lives in E. Northport, N. Y. with his wife and best friend Phyllis and their Golden Retriever, Shamus.
