As a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Heather Daly-Donofrio participated in the 1993 Women's Amateur where she was a member of the Yale University golf team for four years. Heather also captured two Connecticut Women's Golf Association Championships in 1992 and 1993. After turning professional in 1993, Wendy went on to win four tournaments on the Futures Tour from 1995-1997 and finished on the money list ranked ninth, twelfth, and third in 1995, 1996 and 1997, respectively.
In 2001, Wendy became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the First Union Betsy King Classic, where she carded a career-low 65 during the first round. The next two years were equally as successful with two top-10 finishes and a season-best finish at the Longs Drugs Challenge, where she tied for 23rd.
Heather began playing golf at the age of 15, but didn't have a proper lesson until she was 20. She married Raymond Howell in 1998 and credits Howell, a PGA Lifetime Member, who taught her everything she knows about golf, as the individual most influencing her career.
