World Golf Village
| Description: |
The World Golf Village, located in St. Augustine, Florida, offers a variety of accommodations, but we recommend the World Golf Village Renaissance Resort and Sheraton's Vistana Resort. Both properties offer first-class accommodations and access to the resort's two championship courses. Keep in mind that guests at the World Golf Village have preferred access to over 20 other courses in the area. The Links Golf Group highly recommends this resort for individual, and especially for corporate, outings. |
| Golf Course Name: |
The Slammer & The Squire |
| Description: |
The older of the two courses at the World Golf Village, The Slammer & The Squire is home to a Senior PGA Event, the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. The course was named for Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, and hosted three televised events in its first year of operation. The newer course, The King & The Bear, is the first joint design by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Both courses are perfectly maintained inland Florida courses, and offer fun for the high-handicapper and a tough test from the back tees for the scratch golfer. Keep in mind that tee times are available for WGV guests at several other neighboring courses. |

Casa de Campo
| Description: |
Located on the southern shore of the Dominican Republic, less than a two-hour flight from Miami, lies the legendary Casa de Campo, home to Pete Dye's Teeth of the Dog golf course. The resort itself offers accommodations in the traditional lodge or in fully-equipped villas (which come with a golf cart for traveling around the property). An all-inclusive resort, one price covers all food, drinks, golf and horseback riding. A world-class shooting club is also on the grounds, making this our favorite Caribbean resort. |
| Golf Course Name: |
Teeth of the Dog |
| Description: |
Pete Dye's famous Caribbean masterpiece, Teeth of the Dog, consistently ranks among the best in the world. Set atop the rugged cliffs of the Dominican coast, the course hugs the coastline like an Irish links layout, with views of the water from nearly every hole. Casa de Campo also is home to a second course, the inland Links course (par 70, 6,461), which features several lakes and two especially unique holes in numbers 14 and 15. Like North Berwick, Royal Dornoch and Royal County Down, Teeth of the Dog is a course worth the trip if only to acquire bragging rights at your local club. |
