
Edward Fryatt has won 5 times around the world as a professional: 1996 Indonesian Open, 1997 India Open, 1998 China Open, 1998 Malaysian Open, and the 1999 Nike Open. In '99, Ed brought his talents back to the states to win the Nike Tour, and a win at Hershey, to achieve a Tour-leading 9 Top-10 finishes. He capped his year by finishing in the top 15 and earning his PGA Tour card in '00.
Ed turned pro in 1994. In 2000, he had 5 Top 10 finishes, including a 3rd at the MCI Classic, a 5th at the Canon Greater Hartford Open, a 7th at the Phoenix Open, 8th at the Doral Ryder Open, and 9th at the International. Included in that 8th place finish was a PGA Tour record tying run of 8 consecutive birdies in the second round.
His 2001 finishes include tying for 8th in the Air Canada Championship and tying for 9th in The INTERNATIONAL Presented by Qwest.
Ed s biggest thrill in golf was winning the 1998 China Open with his wife Michelle caddieing. Other family members have also been involved in sports; his father, James, played professional soccer in England and set a record for the fastest goal from kickoff.
