Dean Bouzeos is the Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Golf Ministry based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Home of the PGA Tour. His work includes ministry to the PGA, Senior PGA, Buy.com, LPGA Futures and Celebrity Tours, overseeing 18 junior golf camps and conducting special ministry events where Tour professionals can share their faith. In addition, Dean co-pastors Sawgrass Chapel, a unique non-denominational service that meets at the Sawgrass Beach Club each Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. About 150 community members attend this outdoor service held weekly for the past 20 years
Growing up in the Chicago area, Dean has had a lifetime commitment to sports. Following his graduation from Carroll College, he began a career as a successful high school basketball coach in the Chicago metropolitan area. In 1985 he was encouraged to enter full-time sports ministry and served as the FCA Wisconsin State Director until 1992 when he accepted the invitation to join the FCA Golf Ministry.
Dean's sports experience is all-inclusive. With a father who was a part of the Chicago Cardinals football organization, Dean was exposed to professional sports at a young age. In addition, as a member of the Greek community, he had at the opportunity to play and coach Greek-American basketball teams and traveled to Greece four times in that capacity. Dean also traveled to Russia as a coach with an AAU team in 1979 and supported President Carter's boycott of the 1980 Olympics. On numerous occasions, Dean has provided chapel services for professional and collegiate teams, getting to know players and coaches around the country and around the world.
When Dean speaks to a church group, he is able to identify with almost any church background. He grew up in a Greek Orthodox family, attended a men's Catholic High School, graduated from a Presbyterian college and now works for a non-denominational sports ministry. Today the Bouzeos' family attends Sawgrass Chapel and Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church.
