
Award-winning golf writer David Shedloski has played golf for nearly 30 years and has been writing about it almost exclusively since 1986.
Shedloski, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, first learned the game at a municipal golf course in Troy, Ohio, called Miami Shores Golf Course, which was designed by famed architect Donald Ross.
He is a graduate of Troy High School, where he was an Honors Student and starred in soccer and track and field, twice reaching the Ohio State Track and Field Championships in the 400 meters. He went on to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism. In college he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and Sigma Tau Delta, an English honorary society.
Shedloski began his writing career in daily newspapers in 1984 as the sports editor of the Commercial Review in Portland, Indiana. He later went to work for Gannett newspapers in northern Ohio and then joined the Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun. He embarked on a free-lance writing career in 1995. Shedloski currently is a senior writer for golf.com, a San Francisco-based website. He has contributed to a number of golf publications, including Golfweek, Golf Magazine and Partners Magazine.
A recipient of nine national golf writing awards, Shedloski is the author of the new book, "Golden Twilight: Jack Nicklaus in his Final Championship Season," which is published by Sleeping Bear Press.
Shedloski, who plays to an 8 handicap, resides in Alexandria, Ohio, with his wife and two children. His favorite golf courses are Muirfield Village Golf Club, Pinehurst No.2 and Pebble Beach Golf Links.
His next book project is expected to be a comprehensive history of Ohio golf.
