Originally from Worthing in Sussex, England, David began his golf career on the European-African Tours. It didn't take him long to determine his real interest was in technique--the mechanics and intricacies of the game. Before long, he was spending more time teaching than playing. Incorporating his methods and philosophies into a strict training program for qualified instructors, David's list of students reads like a "Who's Who of Golf". Among them are Greg Norman, Lee Westwood, and Scott Hoch.
Internationally recognized as one of the world's leading and perhaps, most influential golf instructors, David's passion for the game led him to establish David Leadbetter Golf Academies worldwide. With David's certified, elite instructors, students the world over can hone their game at one of the academy locations.
In addition to David's Golf Academies and his popular golf instruction books (over 1 million copies sold), he has written and produced several golf instruction videotapes. His instructional products and teaching aids help golfers all over the world. David's global reach is evident as he has become the most televised golf teacher logging in excess of over 300 hours per year on the Golf Channel.
Aside from his high television profile, this accomplished author/producer and peerless golf instructor is an astute businessman. David Leadbetter Design is involved with the development of course design on a worldwide basis. David's keen understanding of a golfer's make-up inspires his vision for the design of a course. Currently he is designing a championship course at the famed Mission Hills Golf Resort just outside of Hong Kong, where the next generation of golf pro's will come under the David Leadbetter influence.
