GUADALMINA GOLF HOTEL

| Description: |
Located on the beach near Marbella (our favorite spot in southern Spain), the Guadalmina is a fantastic property. One golf course lies on the property while another is less than a mile away, although quite frankly you will be tempted to lounge by the pool at some point during virtually every day of your stay. The hotel is centrally located between Malaga and Gibraltar, and is in the perfect position to allow guests to take advantage of the great golf that the area has to offer. |
| Golf Course Name: |
Valderrama Golf Club |
| Description: |
The undisputed king of Spanish golf, Valderrama continues to host major events as it heads into the 21st century. Although it may have gained its primary notoriety when it hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup, this Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course has also hosted the Volvo Masters and the World Golf Championships. Known for its cork trees, its wind and its brutal greens, Valderrama is to Spain what the Old Course is to Scotland. Like the Old Course, unfortunately, tee times are tough to obtain, so make your plans early if Valderrama is a requirement for your group. |
| Location: |
30 miles S of Marbella |
| Golf Course Name: |
Sotogrande |
| Description: |
Designed in 1964 by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., this course consistently ranks among the top ten in all of Europe, and second only to Valderrama in Spain. Sotogrande has hosted numerous European PGA Tour events, and, like Valderrama, demands that its golfers make well-placed shots amidst a layout guarded on all sides by the famous cork trees of Andalucia. |
| Location: |
26 miles S of Marbella |
| Golf Course Name: |
Montecastillo |
| Description: |
Located west of Gibralter, the Montecastillo Hotel and Golf Resort is a fantastic property. Although we are only highlighting the golf course, the resort also offers world-class accommodations. We recommend Almerena and Guadalmina to our clients, however, because they are more centrally located. The course itself was designed by Jack Nicklaus and has hosted the Volvo Masters, considered to be the most prestigious tournament on the European PGA Tour. |
| Location: |
85 miles W of Marbella |
ALMENARA HOTEL & GOLF RESORT

| Description: |
Located 20 minutes north of Gibraltar and 30 minutes south of Marbella, Almenara is located in the midst of Costa del Sol's best golf courses. As pictured, the hotel lies immediately adjacent to the fabulous Almenara Golf Club, and within minutes of both Sotogrande and Valderrama. We prefer Almenara to its neighbor San Roque, although both are "can't miss" resort hotels. The bottom line is that Almenara provides tropical beachfront luxury with a dose of world-class golf. |
