Martin has won on the Nike Tour, and played well in the U.S. Open, and his success as a professional golfer is almost a sure thing. After all, just to qualify for the Open he made a 25-foot putt on the second hole of a five-player playoff for the last of five spots in sectional qualifying. He did that at the end of a day in which he'd already completed 36 grueling holes.
Casey Martin became a member of the BUY.COM TOUR in 1998-99. He earned his first BUY.COM TOUR win at the 1998 season-opening Lakeland Classic and finished at 19-under par (269) to win at Lakeland by one stroke over Steve Lamontagne. He finished 16-under par to finish T4 at the 1998 Ozarks Open and was a second-team All-American in 1994 at Stanford.
In 1995, Casey was named Academic All-American. He is a member of Stanford's 1994 NCAA Championship team, and was a college teammate of current PGA TOUR members Tiger Woods and Notah Begay III. He has four competitive aces, including two in back-to-back rounds in the 1994 Oregon Open.
