Biographical Information

Carol started playing golf at the age of seven, under the tutelage of her father, George T. Preisinger, a Life member of the PGA of America. Carol competed in high school and played college golf for the University of Georgia Lady Dogs. After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology, she played on the Women's Florida Golf Tour and attended LPGA Tour Qualifying School in 1985. Her true career began when she joined the LPGA Teaching Division in 1988.

Since that time, Carol has earned Class A status in the Teaching and Club Professional Division in 1992. She has attended the LPGA Nike Teaching Schools, Swing Model Workshops, Club Fitting Seminars, and has been a featured speaker at the 1993 LPGA Southeast Section Seminar and the 1994 LPGA National Seminar. Her service to the LPGA includes hosting 2 LPGA Teaching Schools, 2 Swing Model Workshops, the 1995 Southeast Section Championship and the 1997 Southeast Section Seminar. Carol has annually hosted LPGA Evaluation Test Sites and the LPGA National Education Programs I and II since 1996, and was on the Golf For Women LPGA T&CP National Championship Committee from 1996 to 1998. A past Area Rep and Member Advisor, Carol has served as a National Evaluator for LPGA National Test Sites since 1997, and was elected Secretary of the Southeast Section for the term 1999-2001. She competes yearly in the Southeast Section Championship, the National Championship, and the Georgia Women's Open. In 1996, Carol was nominated for Professional of the Year in the Southeast Section, and was awarded 'Golf Woman of the Year' for Atlanta by TopFlite and the Women's Sports Foundation. Most recently, Carol has been honored by the LPGA as the 1998 National Teacher of the Year. Since that time, Carol has earned Class A status in the Teaching and Club Professional Division in 1992. Presently the Director of Instruction at City Club in Marietta, Georgia, Carol has been a staff member since the opening of this public facility in October of 1991. During the season, Carol gives an average of 40 one-hour lessons a week. She prides herself in being a strong communicator, treating each student as a unique individual while facilitating their own learning style. She is a strong supporter of Junior Golf. She also enjoys her relationships with many senior and special population students. Her involvement as an instructor with many Corporate Clinics has given Carol the opportunity to teach along side of many LPGA Tour Players such as Jane Blaylock, Kathy Whitworth, Shelly Hamlin, Missie Bertiotti, Caroline Pierce, Cindy Mackey, and others. She has also spent time teaching with many former Teachers of the Year, like Gale Peterson, Dana Radar, Diane McHeffey, and the late Dr. De De Owens.

Carol is a huge supporter of local charities, donating lessons and clinics to the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Atlanta Women's Network, Easter Seals, Spina Bifida, Promina Hospitals and many community fundraisers.

Carol also regularly contributes written stories to many statewide publications as well as some national magazines, such as Golf For Women. She has also been featured on Atlanta T.V. News Stations and is a regular guest on WCNN 680's "The Golf Show", an Atlanta radio golf show. On January 14, 1999, the City Council and Mayor Ansley Meadors honored Carol by naming that day "Carol Preisinger Day" in the City of Marietta.
