Born 1981 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Candy was a teenager when her family moved to the U.S. and she began playing golf. While attending the University of Southern California, this striking 5'6" brunette honed her golf skills and was twice named NCAA All-American; also winning the 2000 PAC-10 Championship.
Claiming the coveted U.S. Public Links Championship in 2001, Candie continued her triumphs on the course when she turned professional in August of the same year, and went on to win the SBC Futures Tour Championship. A tie for 15th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament earned her non-exempt status for the 2002 season but she went on to finish 36th on the 2002 Money List and earned her exempt card.
In 2002, Candie took part in the Weetabix Women's British Open. During the first round, she fired off a career-low 65, eventually tying for fourth, her career-best finish.
The following year saw "King Kung" skyrocket onto the golf map by claiming three LPGA titles -- the State Farm Classic, the Wachovia LPGA Classic and the LPGA Takefuji Classic.
This young professional credits her parents and brother for having the most influence on her career.
