
Brian Barnes learned the game from his father, and later was a pupil of 1951 British Open champion Max Faulkner, who became his father-in-law. He overcame the odds by battling phlebitis, a painful condition inflicted by a spider bite, to win two Senior British Open championships: 1995, and 1996.
Brian had his best performances at the start and near the end of the 1999 season, with both top efforts coming in Hawaii...T6 at the MasterCard Championship thanks to a final-round 67...T7 at the EMC 2 Kaanapali Classic with three straight sub-70 scores...Low round of the campaign, a 7-under 65, gave him the first-round lead at the Boone Valley Classic...Eventually finished T31.
Most recently, Brian signed on with CNBC as a sports commentator.
