
Brandel Chamblee earned his first PGA Tour victory at 1998 Greater Vancouver Open. He opened with 67 and was third, second-round 64 moved him into tie for lead with Chris DiMarco, added a 68 on Saturday and fell one stroke behind Payne Stewart. Made 36-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to cap a 5-under-par 66 and a 19-under 265 for a three-stroke victory over Stewart.
He also won the 1990 New England Classic with 1-under -par 215 total. He ranked in the top 100 on the Tour money list for the fifth straight year, he was four strikes back through 54 holes at Bay Hill Invitational after rounds of 70-69-67, final-round 74 good for T5, six strokes out of Tim-Herron. In 2000, he tied for 7th in the GTE Byron Nelson Classic and he tied for 10th in the Nissan Open, Bay Hill Invitational. Brandel finished the year among the Top 100 on the TOUR money list for the sixth straight year.
His best finishes on the PGA TOUR in 2001 is T2nd at the Nissan Open, and T3rd at the Advil Western Open.
