Born in Denver, Colorado, Angela loved the outdoors and was an "all around sports" kind of girl who also loved to ride horses. With her horse named "Chief", she was excited to ride competitively. But a surprise turn of events led her heart in a different direction. When this active cheerleader and dancer broke her shoulder by a failed gymnastics move on the monkey bars, her doctor recommended golf or tennis for rehab. It wasn't long after hitting a few balls with her dad that she fell in love with the game.
Angela has steadily pursued her golf career, competing at the local level, state and then national tournaments through the AJGA.
During an amazing four and a half years at the University of Georgia, not only did she earn a degree in marketing but Angela also set the school record for all-time lowest stroke average and won the team national championship, overthrowing Duke as the national champs.
Beginning with a pair of high school team state championships (1994, 1998) at Hardaway High School in Columbus, Ga., Angela's career highlights include:
27 top-10 finishes in 34 AJGA events
3-time AJGA Rolex Junior All-American Selection
2-time National Golf Coaches Association All-American
4-time All-SEC Team selection
Exempt status-Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach
Following her victory at the U.S. Curtis Cup and U.S. Women's Open, Angela turned pro. She is excited to tour and compete with players she has admired.
